Really crap day yesterday.........went to bed and felt sorry for myself. Picked up a bit towards evening. Slept fairly well (some Scottish guy in my earphones telling me to "Go to sleep")! Up and at em early with determination to be more positive. Found this challenging but managed to get most things done albeit at a slow pace. Spoke to my gp who has signed me off for a further 4 weeks as expected. Feel rather resigned to becoming less able and trying hard to accept that. Bit spaced out at times (steroids or condition?) tired all the time and no stamina. Taking 20 minutes to recover from simple activity before doing the next thing. Ate loads of healthy veg tonight to make up for all the biscuits/ cheesecake and last nights midnight cheese toastie............aghh

Hi penny you sound much better mentally in your last post, 4weeks isn't too bad ( I know it won't feel like that just now) it will give you and the medication time to get yourselfs sorted :-) fingers crossed you continue to improve and have a lovely relaxing weekend, I've gave myself a talking too( ha ha ) as I've not been bothering too much about my appearance lately, comfy clothes and hair in a pony tail is as good as it gets, I really must start making more off an effort, I can't wait for the day that the medication is all sorted and we get some kind off normality back, most people with aih get this so why can't we, I think I've finally decided to give work ago at the end off this sick line or am never going to know what I am capable off, going to arrange a meeting for next week to go in and talk to them about reduced hours hopefully they will be ine about it, I will take some info about aih with me just so they have some understanding about how things can be, hope you have a great weekend and good luck for the clinic on Monday I know your going to do just fine. Take care xx
ReplyDeleteWell done Colleen. I gave my manager some printouts about the condition, it really helped. I'm very lucky that she has been so supportive. What do you do? Hope it's not too physical?! They have to try to accomodate you, so the more info you give (particularly about stamina)) the better.
